Debating on buying the TikTok viral, Pinterest-worthy Sezane Paula Babies? Here’s my honest, non-sponsored review of the famous French brand’s dreamy shoes.
When I first stumbled upon the dreamy camel-polished half-height heels on Pinterest, I envisioned a more complete version of myself: a studious, manic-pixie kind of main character. Perhaps someone who spent the bulk of their time getting lost in libraries or cobblestone roads.
The second I shelled out the $215 for my Paula Babies, I strutted out of the NoHo Sezane and walked 15 minutes to one of my favorite Village coffee shops. That’s when the pinching of the toes and the blisters on my heels began to form.

Obviously, with a new pair of shoes, this is to be expected. I wore them around the house for weeks to break them in and even took them to a cobbler to be stretched. However, with all this effort, the shoes are still on the narrow side and my wide feet just don’t fit as well as I’d like them to.
Sezane is pretty upfront with the shoe quality expectations: It isn’t real leather, it’s not going to stretch.
Are Sezane Paula Babies Comfortable?
Paula Babies are not the most comfortable shoe I’ve owned but they aren’t the worst either. If you spend a good effort breaking them in with thick socks and walking around your house, you’ll have a much easier time.
As I mentioned, I have wide feet so if your feet. So, if you’re feet are more narrow you’re already going to have a better experience.
I can wear the Paula babies out for a date, dinner, or even a wedding, but I surely can’t walk New York in them and would be hesitant to try them on my daily commute.
Are They Adjustable for Wide Feet?
While the paula babies are somewhat adjustable with straps, I still think the wide-feet girlies will have a hard time. If the shoes were just a touch wider I think it would be a great match.
Which Size and Colors to Pick

I love how they offer so many different colors for these shoes! The polished camel, varnish red, and denim blue are my favorites. Ultimately, I chose the polished camel because it matches my wardrobe best.
Sizes are offered 5-11, with the only half-size being a 6.5
Sizing up.
Nearly, every Sezane Review urged buyers to get the next SIZE UP. So, especially considering my wide feet – this is what I did. Unfortunately, I did have to return my original 7s and get the 6.5 half size down which seemed to be a better fit.
Where to Buy the TikTok Viral Paula Babies
Ready to make the purchase? Buy the hit shoes on Sezane’s website, or there are second-hand options on the RealReal.
How to Style
I feel these are true fall/spring shoes and work best with those kinds of outfits. I’ve styled them with printed skirts and cardigans or relaxed-fitting jeans.

Do I Think the Sezane Paula Babies Are Worth it?
Honestly.. no. While it isn’t my biggest purchase regret, if I am paying over $200 for shoes, I wish that I could wear them more.
Where to Buy Paula Baby Dupes
Believe it or not, the Paula Babies themselves are actually dupes for a different popular shoe by Carel.
I think if I were to do it differently, I would have saved up for the true Italian leather shoes by Carel or get a similar style from Steve Madden. Most of my shoes are from Steve Madden as they always fit my feet well.
2026 UPDATE: I recently bought these SOFFT Mary Janes, and they are a million times more comfortable (and cheaper) than the Sezane Paula babies. Unfortunately, I think they are being discontinued as there are hardly any sizes left. Overall, I am really impressed with the Sofft brand and would recommend trying these lillian pumps as an alternative to the Elsey’s. Highly recommend!
I hope this in-depth review of the Sezane Paula Babies helps you make an informed shoe purchase.
